My 10 Things 26/04/15

For this months My 10 things Linky post with A Cornish Mum, I've decided to do things I can't live without.

So here they are.

  • My Kids - They may fight like cat and dog, have moments that make me wonder, "Am I getting it all wrong?" Have me crying tears of joy and frustration at the same time, but they truly are my reason for getting up each morning.
  • Herself - I don't tell her, or show her nearly enough but she is my best friend and I love her to bits.
  • My Phone - Be it playing Candy Crush, watching an episode of The Blacklist, a tool to avoid human interaction, a camera to capture those memories and moments with, Google Maps to get me places or just to send a text or make a call. I really would be lost without it.
  • A Car - Much as I'd love a shiny new Ford Galaxy or Volkswagen Touran. I'd be lost without a car. So my 97 VW Saharan is an unsung hero. From getting the kids to school to taking them to training. Getting the shopping to Karate tournaments. The faithful old girl gets the job done in comfort if not style.
  • Sky+ App - For those moments a quick trip turned into an hour long hunt for whatever it was, and the match was not set to record it's a lifesaver. For solving arguments about what's on when without disturbing herselfs soap viewing its priceless, and for those childish moments of sitting in the kitchen and changing channels its downright brilliant.
  • Family - I may not call them, write or even email as often as I should. Knowing that I could ring at any time and they'd be there for me as I would them. We might not be perfect but we are family and through it all the good and bad we are there for each other.
  • Our Passports - If you read my #TheList Linky post on 11/04, you'll know I enjoy travelling and going on family holidays.
  • Music - Gone are the days I picked the CD to listen to in the car. What radio station is on the kitchen HiFi. I've tried to impress the brilliance of Queen, the songwriting of Sting and the cheesiness of the 80's onto the kids. Save for my Little Buddy singing Fat Bottomed Girls it hasn't worked. They do all love music and even though in some cases I sound like my Dad. "What is that rubbish, its just noise" the sound of music and kids singing along makes me smile as I go about my day.
  • Tottenham Hotspur FC - Ever since I was 10 and my friend Baz asked me who I supported, I didn't have a team, so asked him and copied his team. I've supported Tottenham. I've already told the boys you never ever, ever change your team.
  • Sandy (The Dog) - I was against getting a pup for the boys. 4 years later I wouldn't part with her. The number of tantrums she has stopped, and tired the boys out is worth the house training and scratching at the door.

  • So there they are. Have you anything you can't live without?

    1. Thanks for linking up! Numbers 1 and 2 are very sweet :) We have to record loads on our BT box, as we are never ready to watch anything at the right time!

Oh its brilliant for recording something ready for the I want to watch it now, or I don't want to go training because I'll miss the match.

      1. I bought a car with a tape player recently. At first I was disappointed. Two weeks with no One Direction CD and its bliss.

    3. I'm with you with most of these! Great idea to do a list of things you couldn't live without. There's probably more than 10! Well done for focussing it down!

      1. Thanks Luna. It was a fun post to write, but narrowing the list to just 10 did take some doing.
At least I have a half written post for another day :-)

    5. Loved your list - some great choices there (Come on, you Spurs! Ahem)

I'd be lost without my passport too, though I don't travel as much as I'd like with it, hehe.
